Police are searching for Mohammad Erfan Selim, son of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) District 30 Councilor and Dhaka-6 MP Haji Selim, in a case of beating and threatening to kill a naval officer.
Sajjadur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) went to Kalabagan on Monday morning. He said this after inspecting the place.
When asked about the case, Ramna DC Sajjadur Rahman told Jago News that one person has been arrested so far in the incident. An operation is underway to catch all the accused.
He also said CCTV footage of the incident was being collected.
On Sunday night (October 25), Wasif Ahmed Khan, a naval officer, was beaten after exiting a government vehicle with the text “Member of Parliament” by Dhaka-6 MP Haji Mohammad Selim. Although GD was involved in the incident at night, today (Monday) morning it was included as a case.
According to the case statement, after Erfan’s car collided with Wasif, he stopped the motorcycle on the side of the road, stood in front of the car and introduced himself. Then the defendants started saying together from the car: ‘I am going to take out your navy / army, your lieutenant / captain. I’ll kill you now, ‘he said, hitting and insulting my wife.
They beat me and left me in a bloody state. Later, my wife, the local population and the traffic police officer from the Dhanmondi Police Station on duty rescued me and took me to Anwar Khan Model Hospital.
In the case, a total of five criminal offenses have been mentioned. The offenses are: criminal use of force against a person as a member of an illegal assembly under section 143 of the Penal Code, illegal control of a person under section 341, injuries to obstruct the work of a government official under section 332 , force on a government official under section 353 and death under section 506. Threatening.
