The police chief, immigration authorities and the anti-corruption commission were instructed to return to the country “safely.”
A virtual high court of Judge Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar approved the order on Wednesday after accepting a request from International Leasing and Finance Services Limited (ILFSL) seeking protection of the life of Prashant Kumar Haldar aka PK Haldar, former Managing Director of NRB Global. Bank.
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin was present at the state hearing in court. Attorney Mahfuzur Rahman Milon appeared for ILFSL. And the hearing was on behalf of the ACC. Khurshid Alam Khan.

In the order, the judge said: “If PK Haldar reaches the country, this company meter can be removed. To solve that, the court wants to see him arrested and jailed as soon as he lands in the country. It should not be allowed to go out.
“If this is done, he will be kidnapped according to his request, it will not happen again.”
The court said PK Haldar could attend various company meetings even after his arrest. The Appeals Division has a directive on this in the Destiny case. If necessary, your chair and table will also be arranged.
PK Haldar, a fugitive from the law, wants to return home safely to assist in the recovery of money from International Leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFSL), a non-bank financial institution.
An ILFSL petition filed in High Court said it had booked a ticket for an Emirates flight from Dubai to Dhaka on October 25. The flight is scheduled to land at Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport at 8am Bangladesh time.
Previously, on September 7, ILFSL had submitted another request in this regard. On the same day, the court said that if PK Haldar specified when, when and on which flight he wanted to return to the country, the Attorney General’s Office would give the necessary instructions to the country’s police agencies, including immigration authorities and the ACC.
At the hearing, the judge also said that if the embezzlers want to return the money, they must have the opportunity to continue the legal process against them.
PK Haldar, who is located abroad, submitted an application to the Managing Director of International Leasing and Financial Services Limited on June 26. There, ILFSL is said to have invested in several of its directly and indirectly owned entities. In their absence and in the ‘unfavorable situation’ created in the country, the management of these institutions has assumed a ‘complex form’.
It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to Hussein.
That is why it wants to return to the country in a ‘fearless environment’ and settle all its obligations to all other financial institutions, including ILFSL.
After receiving PK Haldar’s application, International Leasing and Finance Services Limited (ILFSL) applied to the court for the protection of his life.
PK Haldar, a former managing director of NRB Global Bank, was the managing director of the listed ILFSL. Earlier this year it was reported that he had fled abroad after embezzling millions of rupees from his clients.
He was then removed from the position of managing director of ILFSL and his property was confiscated. The ACC filed a case against him for acquiring illegal assets worth Tk 300 million.
Previously, seven people had filed a judicial petition in Superior Court seeking instructions to return the deposit held at ILFSL. On January 21, the High Court ordered the confiscation of the passports of 19 people, including PK Haldar, his mother, wife, brother and a senior company official.
Despite the order to prevent them from leaving the country, media reports said that PK Haldar had by then disappeared.
The court further ordered that real and personal property, including cash, vehicles and inventory of PK Haldar and its associates, could not be transferred to any person or entity until the pending case is dismissed.
Two ILFSL directors appealed to the Appellate Division challenging the Superior Court order. Later, on February 27, the four-judge appeals court headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain dismissed his appeal and upheld the High Court order.
