An attorney for International Leasing and Financial Services Limited (ILFSL) told the Attorney General’s Office and the Anti-Corruption Commission by email that PK Haldar would not be returning to the country.
Prashant Kumar Haldar (PK Haldar), former Managing Director of NRB Global Bank, was the Managing Director of the publicly listed ILFSL.
After PK Haldar fled abroad earlier this year to complaints from ILFSL clients, the ACC filed a case claiming it had “illegal assets” worth Rs 300 million.
At one point, the ILFSL told the court that PK Haldar wanted to return to the country under the protection of the court for the safety of his life to ‘return the embezzled money.’
In his opinion, the High Court in an order last Wednesday said that PK Haldar should be arrested and handed over to the corresponding court as soon as he landed on the country from the plane.

The order was issued to the chief of police, immigration authorities and the anti-corruption commission so that PK Haldar could return to the country “safely” and surrender to court.
In the order, the judge said: “If PK Haldar comes to the country, this company meter can be removed. To resolve that, the court wants to see him arrested and jailed as soon as he lands in the country. It should not be allowed to go out.
“If this is done, he will be kidnapped according to his request, it will not happen again.”
Attorney General AM Amin Uddin appeared for the state at the Superior Court hearing. Md. I was in favor of the ACC. Khurshid Alam Khan. Attorney Mahfuzur Rahman Milon appeared for ILFSL.
PK Haldar wants to return to the country under the protection of the court
PK Haldar was ordered to be arrested as soon as he landed in the country.
When asked if PK Haldar would return on Saturday, Attorney General Amin Uddin told bdnews24.com: The ACC and the Attorney General have sent an email. “
When asked why he wouldn’t come, he said: “I really don’t know why he won’t come. He knows his client. He sent an email, I don’t know if that person is a coward. They know.”
ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told bdnews24.com: He also sent us a copy of the mail.
“It will not come due to physical illness and Covid-19. It will tell me when it will come later.”
ILFSL’s lawyer, Mahfuzur Rahman Milon, was called more than once Wednesday to discuss the matter, but did not answer the phone.
An application filed by ILFSL in High Court said he had booked a ticket for an Emirates flight from Dubai to Dhaka on October 25. The flight will land at Dhaka Shahjalal International Airport at 8:10 am Bangladesh time.
Previously, on September 7, ILFSL had submitted another request in this regard.
That day, the court said that if PK Haldar specified when, when and on which flight he wanted to return to the country, the Attorney General’s Office would give the necessary instructions to the country’s law enforcement agencies, including immigration authorities and the ACC.
At the hearing, the judge also said that if the embezzlers want to return the money, they must have the opportunity to continue the legal process against them.
Overseas PK Haldar applied to the current Managing Director of International Leasing and Financial Services Limited on June 26.
There, ILFSL is said to have invested in several of its directly and indirectly owned entities. In their absence and in the ‘unfavorable situation’ created in the country, the management of these institutions has taken a ‘complex form’.
It is claimed that if he could return to the country, he could “cut the crisis” of business and play a “positive role” in the country’s economy during the epidemic.
That is why it wants to return to the country in a ‘fearless environment’ and settle its liabilities with all other financial institutions, including ILFSL, running all its institutions smoothly, according to the petition.
After receiving PK Haldar’s application, ILFSL applied to the court for the protection of his life.

PK Haldar was removed from the post of managing director of ILFSL after fleeing abroad and confiscating his properties.
Previously, seven people had filed a judicial petition in Superior Court seeking instructions to return the money deposited with the ILFSL.
After a preliminary hearing on the lawsuit, the High Court on January 21 ordered the confiscation of the passports of 19 people, including PK Haldar, his mother, wife, brother and senior company officials.
Despite the order preventing them from leaving the country, media reports said that PK Haldar had by then disappeared.
