An elderly man named Abdul Mannan (65) was killed in a wild boar attack in the Krok area of ​​Barguna Sadar upazila. In this incident, the locals got together and found the pig and beat him.

The elderly man died in the area adjacent to the Croke Grameen Bank in Sadar Union around 12 noon on Friday. Later, around 3pm, the locals killed the pig.

Witnesses said that a resident of the Dhalua area of ​​the upazila went to the account to collect the old water lily. Suddenly, a wild boar attacks him. At that time, some locals went to the place, chased the pig, rescued the old man and took him to the side street. He died shortly after.

When panic spread over this incident, the locals gathered and found the pig and beat him up. Five people were injured in the attack. Among them, Humayun, Nazrul and Ahadul have been admitted to the Barguna General Hospital.

A witness, Bazlur Rahman, said he was working in the fields. Suddenly, hearing the sound of pigs, he went down to the field with some people. At that moment, he saw Mannan, who was bitten by a pig in the field. Rescue Mannan and chase the accompanying beach, Rabbi, and Bazlu the pig.

Mannan’s son Badal said his father was a farmer. He used to pick vegetables and sell them in the market. He left the house this morning as usual. Then people will know that his father was killed in the attack of the pig.

Some people in the area said they have seen a wild boar roaming the area in recent days. Two of them said that the pig also chased them.

The Barguna Range Officer of the Forest Department, Matiur Rahman, arrived at the scene around 4 pm, rescued the dead pig and took it to the Barguna Livestock Hospital. “We will provide financial assistance to the families of the victims and the injured,” he said. The pig probably entered the town by mistake from the forest. Think that the pig was aggressive because it was hungry for a long time.

The police visited the scene and handed over the body of the deceased to his family. Tariqul Islam, the police officer in charge of Barguna, said: “After the legal process, the body of the deceased will be handed over to the family after the autopsy.”
