Chief Executive of the Rajshahi District Council. Nuruzzaman and his friend Sajid Hossain were arrested in Chapainawabganj along with Phensidyl. Rajshahi officials from the Narcotics Control Department arrested him around 8.30pm on Friday. He was held at the Chapainawabganj Circuit House until the report was written at 12pm.
Jafrullah Kajal, Deputy Director of the Rajshahi office of the Narcotics Control Department, said they had information that the executive director of the Rajshahi district council regularly carried fencidil in a government vehicle from Chapainawabganj. He also took Phensidyl himself. Based on this information, they took a position at the Mahananda Bridge toll plaza. Nuruzzaman was driving the government car at around 8.30pm. At that time, officials from the Department of Narcotics Control challenged him. Later, Nuruzzaman said that he was the executive director of the Rajshahi district council. His car is official. The car was subsequently searched and a bottle of Coke was found under the driver’s side seat. They checked and found that 75 bottles of Phensidyl Coke were transported in the bottle. Sajid was sitting next to the driver.
In this regard, Chapainawabganj Deputy Commissioner Manjurul Hafeez told Prothom Alo that the government car is fine. However, he obtained Phensidyl from the person next to him. Officials from the Department of Narcotics Control will decide whether to detain or release you.
