Mikha Piregu, a student at Jahangirnagar University (JU), has been permanently expelled by the university administration for allegedly falsifying the seal and seal of the department chairman in the request for permission for the special exam.
The information came from an office order signed by the acting university registrar Rahima Kaniz on Tuesday.
Mikha Piregu is a student of the Jabir 2014-15 session and a resident student of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall. He is also the president of the JU Student Union and the Deputy General Secretary of the Central Student Union.
The order of the office said that he was expelled on the basis of the recommendation of the investigation committee formed on the allegation of falsification of signature and seal of the departmental president in the application form.
When asked about this, Mikha Piregu said: “In 2017, I submitted an application for a special exam with the seal and signature of the department chairman to the exam controller.” This approval came after a department meeting. However, the Vice Chancellor’s Office did not approve it for no reason and I was asked to reapply from the Office of the Examinations Controller. I submitted a photocopy of the application for the first time as the campus was closed due to winter break.
He said that he had requested a review of the union’s decision to permanently expel him. The review process is ongoing.
