An elderly man named Abdul Mannan (65) was killed in a wild boar attack in the Krok area of ​​Barguna Sadar upazila. Five more people were injured in the attack. Later, the villagers beat the pig and hung it from a tree.

The incident took place in the area adjacent to the Croke Grameen Bank in Sadar Union around 12 noon on Friday. The deceased was identified as Abdul Mannan, a resident of the Dhalua area in Barguna Sadar. In the afternoon, the villagers beat the pig to death.

Witnesses said Abdul Mannan went to the bill to collect the shapla. Suddenly, a wild boar attacked him. At that time some locals went to the place and chased the pig and rescued the old man. He died shortly after.

Eyewitness Bazlur Rahman said he was working in the field when he heard a sudden noise and took some sticks and saw that Mannan had been bitten by a pig. At that moment they rescued Mannan.

Mannan’s son Badal said his father was a farmer. Recently I used to pick vegetables and sell them in the market. He left the house this morning as usual. Then people will know that his father was killed in the attack of the pig.

Some people in the area said they have seen a wild boar roaming the area in recent days. Abul Kalam and Jibon said that the pig also chased them.

Matiur Rahman, a petty officer from the Barguna Range of the Forest Department, said on his mobile phone that villagers had killed the pig before the Forest Department took the necessary steps to catch it. The police have visited the place.

Barguna Police Station OC Tariqul Islam said the body of the deceased was handed over to his family after a judicial process.
