Piyan Yasin of the Brahmanbaria Sadar Sub-Registry Office has embezzled Tk 5 crore 8 lakh 25,539 from the land registration fee, document search fee and forgery fee by failing to deposit them in the bank. The money was embezzled from April 6, 2014 to November 26, 2019. Nripendra Nath Sikder, an officer from the Brahmanbaria District Registration Office, filed a General Journal (GD) at the Brahmanbaria Police Station on November 29 of that year. He then went to the police station on December 5 to present a case. However, the police did not file a case and referred the matter to the ACC.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) presented the case on December 10 of last year. Before the case, Yasin Mia was arrested on December 6 under Section 54. She was subsequently arrested on December 11 in the case. On August 8, the Brahmanbaria court rejected her release on bail in the case. Yasin then applied for bail in Superior Court. On August 16, the Superior Court issued a rule asking why he would not be granted bail. After hearing about this rule, the court dismissed it today.
