Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said illegal weapons must be recovered from the hills. The government has made a peace agreement to live in peace. So peace will return to the mountains through talks. The Interior Minister said this while addressing a public order meeting at the Khagrachhari Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Thursday afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Pratap Chandra Biswas chaired the meeting.

The Interior Minister commented that law and order would be restored in the mountains. He added: “The police, Ansar, BGB and even the RAB will be deployed to the abandoned military camps to stop extortion in the areas where the military camps have been removed according to the peace agreement.”
Hours earlier, the Interior Minister launched e-passport activities in the Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Bandarban, Cox’s Bazar, Chandpur and Narayanganj districts through a videoconference from the Khagrachhari Regional Passport Office. “We don’t want to shed blood anymore,” he said. I want to bring the air of peace. There are some shortcomings in the implementation of the peace agreement. Unrealized clauses will be implemented.
