Noakhali: Officials from the Police Investigation Office (PBI) have visited the scene together with Badal, Kalam and Saju, three defendants in two cases brought against them for torturing a woman in Begumganj, Noakhali.

Inspector Mamunur Rashid Patwari, who is investigating the case brought under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act, accompanied the three defendants to the victim’s home in Joykrishnapur village of Eklashpur Union at 10 am on Saturday. (October 10th).

He was accompanied by senior PBI officials at the time.

PBI officials stayed in the home for about 20 minutes and toured the site and the area around the victim’s residence. However, they did not speak to anyone at the time.

Early on Friday morning, a team led by PBI Noakhali Inspector Subhash Chandra Pal visited the victim’s home in the Joykrishnapur village of Eklashpur Union. In addition to the two officers investigating the case, PBI Chittagong investigation expert Faruk Ahmed and the former investigating officer for the two cases, Deputy Inspector of the Begumganj (SI) Mostaq Ahmed Model Police Station were also present at the time. Police have been deployed to the home since the incident came to light.

Said the District Police Superintendent (SP). Alamgir Hossain said that the two cases brought by the victim under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act were transferred to PBI on Friday afternoon as instructed by the police headquarters. PBI has appointed Inspector Mamunur Rashid Patwari as investigating officer in the case brought under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act. In addition, Inspector Mostafizur Rahman was appointed investigating officer in the case filed under the Pornography Act.

By the way, the video of a naked and tortured woman recorded on her mobile phone during the incident was released on social media last Sunday. That night, the police found the tortured woman and detained her. That night, the victim filed two cases under the Women and Children Abuse Prevention Act and the Pornography Control Act with the Begumganj Model Police Station. In the statements of the two cases, the names of 9 people were mentioned and 7/8 more unidentified people were charged. So far, 11 people have been arrested in the two cases. Of these, 6 have been registered and 5 have been added to the investigation.
