The criminals set fire to six passenger buses in the Shahbagh, Press Club, Gulistan, Motijheel, Nayabazar and Shahjahanpur areas of the capital.
The fire broke out on buses in front of Shahbagh Aziz Supermarket, Gulistan Ramna Bhaban, and the National Press Club at noon on Thursday (November 12).
The Paltan (OC) Abu Bakkar Siddique Police Station confirmed the matter. He said that a fire broke out on a Victor Classic transport bus from Paltan to Sadarghat in front of Gulistan Ramna Bhaban. The bus was carrying passengers.
Also, a Rajnigandha Paribahan bus traveling from Ghatarchar to Chittagong Road caught fire in front of the Press Club. The criminals are believed to have set fire to these buses. However, no casualties were reported.
Shahbagh Police Officer in Charge (CO), Mohammad Mamun Aur Rashid, said a fire broke out on a bus in front of the Aziz supermarket. The police have been dispatched to the scene.
