Parvez, 20, murdered his mother and three children and killed them when he was caught stealing a mobile phone at night in the Jaina Bazar (Abdar) area of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur. He also raped them both after the murder. Parvez made the comments during questioning after his arrest by the Gazipur Police Investigation Office (PBI) on Sunday (April 26).
Parvez Keta was arrested in the Abdar area of the upazila on Sunday night. He is the son of Kazim Uddin of the area. He has given a confessional statement in section 164 in court that he committed four murders alone.
On April 23, police recovered the decapitated bodies of Smriti Akhter Fatema, 45, wife of expat Redwan Hossain Kajal, eldest daughter Sabrina Sultana Noora, 18, youngest daughter Hawarin, 12, and son disabled Fadil, 6.
On Monday (April 26), PBI inspector Hafizur Rahman said that after his arrest, Parvez was found in his confession with bloodstained clothing, a mobile phone, three necklaces, earrings and looted gold trim. Parvez confessed to the murder during interrogation. Details of the shocking murder will be announced at a press conference.
In his statement, Parvez said that at 12:30 p.m. on April 23, Kajal’s wife and eldest daughter went to the back of the Babul home to steal a touch mobile phone. From there he climbed onto the roof of the house. Later cut the rope to dry the fabric on the ceiling with the blade you have. The rope is tied to the ceiling grille and penetrates through the empty space of the two-story bathroom. Then he enters Nura and Hawarin’s room and hides under the bed. Nura had earphones in her ears and her younger sister, Hawarin, was asleep. After about an hour, he went downstairs and entered the kitchen, thinking that everyone was asleep. He took a sharp pot from the kitchen and went upstairs to grab his cell phone. Smriti Fatema woke up to the sound of the door opening and asked if anyone was in the bathroom and around. Smriti Fatema screams when she recognizes him. He then hit her randomly on different parts of her body, including her head with a stick. He fell unconscious on the ground. When Nura woke up after hearing the sound, he also stabbed her and seriously injured her. Later, when Nura’s younger brother, Fadil, woke up, he hit her on the head and, when he fell to the ground, killed her and put her under Nura’s bed. Then Hawarin woke up, screamed and got angry. Later he raped Nura. Nura also raped the half-dead Hawarin by tying his hands and feet with his mother’s veil. They were all strangled to death. Nura’s mother untied a gold chain, earrings, an ear flower and a nose flower around her neck. He also took the gold ring from Hawarin’s ear. Then she opened the closet and took two gold chains, a ring, a small red newspaper and two mobile phones from Nura’s mother’s room. Then he washed his hands and face, opened the back door, and went home.
Gazipur District Court Inspector Mir Rakibul Haque said the Gazipur Magistrate Judge presented Shariful Islam Parish on Monday. He gave a confessional statement under section 164 in court detailing the incident. Later, the court did not grant Parvez bail and sent him to jail.
Sreepur (OC) Police Officer Liaquat Ali said Parvez had previously been charged with murder after raping a child.
The boy’s father said Parvez killed his seven-year-old daughter on February 22, 2016 after raping her. A charge sheet was filed against Parvez in court. Parvez was released on bail by the higher court based on his age.
He said that after his release on bail, Pervez and his relatives began to pressure him and threaten to withdraw the case. He threatened to kill her and other family members if the case was not withdrawn. On August 26, 2016, he filed a general newspaper at the Sreepur Police Station accusing Parvez and his parents and family members of seeking safety.
