The groom formed a physical relationship with his cousin by promising to marry her. At one point, the lover became pregnant. After refusing to marry, the woman filed a rape case. In this case, in 2012, the court sentenced the accused groom to life imprisonment.
The young defendant’s lawyer recently applied for bail in high court. The rape victim told the court: ‘They will get married. You have no objection if the defendant is released on bail. The court then ordered the authorities to arrange Karafat’s marriage.
The marriage was solemnized in Rajshahi Central Jail on Saturday afternoon. In addition to the prison authorities, 14 members of the two families, including the eight-year-old boy, were present at the prison.
Members of the two families, including the bride, arrived in front of the Rajshahi Central Jail in a shallow, motor-powered Nasim around 11:30 am today. Then they were put in the jail door. The Hindu marriage registrar Krishna Devi and the priest Parimal Chakraborty were already present there. The groom was brought from prison after the groom arrived. Then, the marriage ceremony began at 12:30 pm in the presence of the main superintendent of the jail, Subrata Kumar Bala.
At the end of the wedding formalities, the jail superintendent gave the bride a new sari as a gift. He also made all two families sweet.
The groom went to express his feelings and said: ‘It feels good to get married. Everyone will pray. So we can have a happy and peaceful family. ‘
“We want to have a good time the rest of our lives,” said the bride.
The main superintendent of the prison, Subrata Kumar Bala, said: “The superior court has ordered the marriage to be consummated. After receiving a copy of the order three days ago, I called both parties. The marriage went smoothly. Now the marriage documents will be sent to the higher court as soon as possible.
According to family sources, the cousins are about that boyfriend-girlfriend. Based on this, he became engaged to the victim in 2011 by promising to marry her. The victim became pregnant. After that, since he did not agree to marry, he was asked to resolve the matter. As there was finally no arbitration meeting, the victim underwent a pregnancy test on October 23 of that year. Then, on October 25, she appeared at the Godagari police station and filed a rape case against her boyfriend.
Charges were brought against the defendants in the case on January 29, 2012 at the Court for the Suppression of Abuse of Women and Children in Rajshahi. After the trial, the court sentenced the defendant to life imprisonment and fined him 50,000 taka on 12 June of that year.
The victim was 14 years old when she was raped. But at that age a child arrived on her lap. The girl no longer received an education. Educated until the seventh grade, the girl started a new life as a farm worker. His children grow day by day. The boy is now eight years old. Meanwhile, the defendant has also been in prison for eight years. After so long, the two families reached an agreement. The court ordered their marriage with the consent of the bride.
