Abu Dhabi has rejected criticism of the Palestinians about the UAE’s relationship with Israel. UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash has called the Palestinians ungrateful for such criticism.
The Palestinian Ambassador to France, Salman al-Harfi, said: “The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have become more Israel than Israel. They are violating the UN Charter.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates chose Twitter to respond to the comments of the Palestinian ambassador. In a tweet in Arabic, he said: “I am not at all surprised by the comments and criticisms of the Palestinian ambassador. Because they are an ungrateful nation.
Bahrain, another country that has acknowledged that Israel is following in the footsteps of the United Arab Emirates, has said it is unwilling to listen to criticism on the issue. The country’s Interior Ministry has made it clear that “legal action” will be taken against social media activists for violating the agreement with Israel.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement that it had monitored social media accounts that were working to tarnish Bahrain’s image as a result of the deal with Israel. The ‘betrayal’ is spreading from these accounts. These actions are a threat to the peace and stability of the country.
Israel was once described in the Arab media as a Zionist power. That day has changed. The countries of the Saudi sphere of influence in the Middle East are slowly bringing Palestine closer to Israel. Riyadh’s allies, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, have already established ties with Israel. There are rumors that some more Arab countries will recognize Israel after the next US presidential election.
US President Donald Trump has said that seven to nine countries will establish normal relations with Israel. This includes Saudi Arabia. A decision will be made in due course.
