A lawyer has been kidnapped and tortured in Pakistan for criticizing the army. He was kidnapped a few days ago. Locals found him in critical condition in a field in Milesi, Punjab province, in the middle of this month.
According to a video shared by human rights activist Arif Azakia, the lawyer spoke out against the Pakistani army in one of her speeches.
According to a report published in Geo News last week, the lawyer was abducted on August 14 by unknown persons from her office, police said.
He was found unconscious in a field near Dhoda Road in Milesi, police said. At that time, his hands and feet were tied and his face was covered with clothing, so he could not speak.
Another video shared by Azakia shows locals asking the traumatized lawyer about his condition. She said that she was a resident of Dipalpur and that four people had kidnapped, tortured and thrown her on the ground.
He was transferred to Dipalpur Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ), the district police officer (DPO) said. An FIR has been filed alleging kidnapping of the victim’s son. The case is being investigated. The attorney’s statement has been recorded.
