Pakistan Airlines may be banned in 16 countries for not complying with international pilot license regulations. This has been confirmed in a report on Tuesday.

The Express Tribune reports that the ICOA may ban airlines and PIA pilots from 16 countries for failing to comply with the rules. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) said in a November 3 letter that the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) had failed to comply with international rules on pilot licensing and training. ICAO also warned PCAA about this.

A spokesman for the Pakistan Airline Pilots Association (PALPA), an organization of Pakistani pilots, said: “Such an ICAO decision would bring disaster to the Pakistani aviation industry.” Palpar alleged that the matter has been repeatedly reported to the authorities since June of this year. But it didn’t help. A spokesman for Palpar said they had approached Prime Minister Imran Khan to intervene.

Previously, Pakistan Airlines was also charged with licensing scam. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is banned in Britain and the European Union due to this scandal.
