Officials on the main bridge project say the truck will get stuck at the rail line at Jazira Point as the bridge climbs over the connecting road.

Rail project officials said the problem was caused by a pillar and the construction company was asked to fix it.

At the same time, the train will run over the 6.1 km long Padma bridge at a cost of 30 billion Tk. Although the main bridge work has been carried out under the bridges department, the rail connection project is being carried out by the railways department.

Shafiqul Islam, director of the Padma Bridge project, told bdnews24.com on Tuesday: “We have objected to the railway work.

“Because there is a railway line on both sides of the bridge, they don’t work according to the standard height and size on the side. They were supposed to be on the road at both ends of the bridge at a height of 5.8 meters and 15.5 meters, but they gave less than that. ”

Ishfiqul said this could cause problems in the movement of vehicles on the connecting road. “They are supposed to work according to the given measurements. They should also give reasons for how things are going here.”

Work on Padma Bridge to be completed in 2022: Minister of Finance

Explaining the problem, a senior engineer from the Padma Bridge project told bdnews24.com: The railroad is running over the road at both ends of the bridge. Work is being done to reduce the height ”.

“If you build an overpass on a highway, and if there is low altitude, then it will be difficult to drive on the bottom, it is normal to have problems with large trucks or trucks,” he said.

When asked about the matter, a senior official with the rail link project told bdnews24.com on condition of anonymity: “A low pillar was erected at Jazira Point. Where it was supposed to be 5.8 meters, it has been 5.5 meters.

“The matter has been reported to the construction company and will be resolved soon.”

The 172 km rail link project from Dhaka to Jessore via Narail via Bhanga and Narail is being implemented with the cooperation of China. China Railway Group Limited (CREC), a Chinese contractor, is working on the project.

The railway project official also claimed that project work would not be delayed or problems would be created due to the pillar problem.
