Every year daughters-in-law and grandchildren come to see the festival centered around the ox cart race. Sitting on the roof of the house, everyone enjoys the winter afternoon. The final competitors in the competition are six cows that run from the eastern end of the field to the western end. Dust is flying off the freshly harvested paddy fields due to the hooves of their feet. And thousands of unemployed women, men and children sing in the town.

Villagers organized a traditional ox-drawn cart race on the Osmanpur land of the Kashimpur union in Jessore Sadar on December 16 at noon. After harvesting a rice field, the whole area was filled with people walking through the vast field. Villagers organize this contest every year.

Sitting around the competition grounds focused on the bullock cart race. People of all ages enjoy the merry-go-round. The shopkeepers sit in the field with various poses. Panpar, Badam, Chanachur, Chatpati, Fuchka, Onion, Chop, Sweet, Gaja, Rasgolla, Bahari Pan of Sadarghat, Hawaiian sweets, colored balloons were in the hands of the children. Children in groups move from one side of the field to the other. The villagers rejoiced.

The number of bullock carts in rural Bengal is declining. To preserve this lost tradition and pass it on to the new generation, a traditional ox cart race is organized every year. Sixteen bullock carts from Jessore and the surrounding districts participated in the contest. Ehsan-ud-Daulah took the pictures from there.
