A 16-year-old girl became pregnant after being gang-raped. A case was filed on Thursday night, six months after the gang rape incident in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj. The victim’s mother presented the case at the Siddhirganj Police Station. Since then, the police have arrested five defendants.
Citing the statement in the case, the officer in charge (CO) of the Siddhirganj Kamrul Farooq police station said that the girl was raped by neighboring tenants six months ago. They remained silent for a long time due to shame and threats from the accused. When she was taken to the hospital due to a sudden illness, the doctor said that the girl was five months and four days pregnant. The five defendants were arrested when the girl’s mother filed a complaint about the incident Thursday night.
Those arrested are Ujjwal Rana (20), son of Ramzan Ali from Thakurgaon Pirganj, Tazel Islam, son of Satarul Hossain from the Satia area of the same police station, Md. Jalal (21), Abdul Aziz Hawlader alias Mintu Hawlader (55 ), son of the late Abdur Rashid Hawlader from the Abdullahpur area of the Bhola Char Fashion Police Station and his wife Bilkis Hawlader. All of the defendants are tenants of Haji Humayun Kabir’s home in the Siddhirganj Kadamtali gas pipeline area.
In the case brief, the plaintiff mentioned that the victim was alone at 6:00 pm on April 24. At that time, the defendant (neighbor) Jalal and Bilkis Hawladar brought the girl to Bilkis’s home to talk. Later, Ujjwal Rana and Tazel Islam were called into the room and left with the girl. Ujjwal Rana and Tazel closed the door and raped the girl in turn. When the girl became ill as a result of the rape, Bilkis bought medicine from the store and fed her. After that, when he recovers, Mintu scares Hawladar, Bilkis, and Jalal Kishori. He did not tell anyone about the incident out of shame and fear.
