In the writ petition, the persons concerned, including the Minister of the Interior, the IGP, the Dhaka District Magistrate and Pallabi OC, were charged.

According to the report, Shahabuddin and his two accomplices, Sohail Mollah and Mamun alias Sagar, were arrested on the night of August 30, 2005 in a ground floor apartment in a building on the ground floor of Building No. 6, Lane No. 6, Block C, Section 6, Pallabi. A case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act at the Pallabi Police Station. Police filed a charge sheet against the three on September 17 of that year. After two years in jail, Shahabuddin was released on bail. But he did not appear in court. An arrest warrant was issued against him.

He then turned himself in to court on January 17, 2011, and took bail. Following the trial in this case, the Dhaka Crime Suppression Court delivered its verdict on October 1, 2012. Shahabuddin was sentenced to 10 years in prison. But since Shahabuddin was a fugitive on the day of the verdict, the court again issued an arrest warrant against him.

In that case, on January 26, 2016, police said. Arman was arrested. The name of the father of the main defendant Shahabuddin is Yasin alias Mohiuddin. Arman’s father’s name is also Yasin. Both Yasins are dead. Arman has been in jail ever since.
