The court has ordered the delivery of the four children detained in a rape case in Bakerganj upazila in Barisal to their parents. Barisal Juvenile Court Judge Abu Shamim Azad approved the order on Thursday night.
Management has already started work to implement this policy. Barisal Deputy Commissioner HM Aziar Rahman confirmed the news.
The deputy commissioner said the Barisal Juvenile Court had ordered the Superior Court to turn over the four children to their families. The Barisal district administration has begun night work to implement the directive. After contacting the Jessore Deputy Commissioner, arrangements were made to bring the four children from the Poolerhat Child Development Center to Barisal.
Meanwhile, the order for the release of the four children has already been sent to the Central Prison of Barisal. The release order from the Barisal Central Jail was delivered to the Poolerhat Youth Development Center in Jessore overnight.
A girl was playing with four boys on October 4 at Bakerganj’s Rangshree Union in Barisal. The girl’s father then filed a case at Bakerganj Police Station on October 8 alleging that his daughter had been raped. Four children were arrested in the case and handed over to court on October 8. The court ordered the children to be sent to the Youth Development Center. When a report on the matter was published yesterday in the media, it came to the attention of the Superior Court, given that the court, on its own initiative, ordered the delivery of the four children to their parents.
