A man has been arrested for attempting to rape a 14-year-old girl in Baraigram upazila de Natore. The detainee was sent to jail through court on Saturday afternoon. Earlier on Friday afternoon, the man was arrested in a village in Upazila during an attempted rape. The defendant was identified as Mozammel Haque, 50.
According to local residents and police sources, the girl’s parents went to the field on Friday afternoon to plant garlic. And the teenager cooked at home. The former acquaintance Mozammel Haque entered the house and tried to rape the girl. At that time, people from the area arrived and arrested Mozammel. He was later handed over to the police. In the evening, the girl’s father filed a complaint with the police station for attempted rape. The police arrested the defendant Mozammel in the case on Saturday afternoon and brought him to the Natore Amli court. The court denied him bail and ordered that he be sent to the district jail.
Baraigram Police Inspector Anwarul Islam said Mozammel Haque, who was detained by locals, was sent to jail through a court. The investigator in the case went to the scene on Saturday morning and questioned the girl and the people around her. Preliminary questioning revealed that the girl used to call the accused uncle.
