Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed her hope that one day fighter jets, transport jets and helicopters will be manufactured in Bangladesh.
He made the remarks in a video conference from Ganobhaban on Sunday at the winter ‘President’s Parade-2020’ hosted by the Air Force. The Presidential Parade was held at Jessore Air Force Academy. The Army Chief of Staff, Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, presented the award to members of the Air Force on behalf of the Prime Minister for their worthy contribution.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Hasina said: “We have recently launched Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University.” We are installing in Lalmonirhat. The university will study aircraft motion, aircraft construction, and space science.
‘Through which I hope that maybe one day we can build fighter jets, transport jets and helicopters in this InshaAllah of Bangladesh. Without it, to practice science in space, maybe one day we can get to space. We will have that effort.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said: “We are not part of the UN peacekeeping force.” Members from different countries also came, the air force, the navy, the army, everyone has to keep up with them. In no way should Bangladesh be left behind in anything. With that in mind, all we have to do is use modern technology, that’s what we are doing.
Sheikh Hasina said the government is in the process of purchasing more modern high-powered fighter jets and other equipment in the future to upgrade and modernize the Air Force to implement the Forces Goal-2030.
The prime minister said an agreement has been signed to buy five state-of-the-art C-130J transport jets to enhance the Air Force’s capacity, three of which have already arrived in the country.
He also said that the integration of the air defense system, the unmanned aerial vehicle system, the mobile gap-filling radar and the state-of-the-art air defense radar will be added soon.
Sheikh Hasina said that seven more next-generation K-7W jet trainer aircraft have been added to ensure better pilot training and the PT-6 simulator will be added soon.
Commenting that today’s newcomers are the soldiers to build a developed and prosperous Bangladesh in 2041, Bangabandhu Kanya said that Bangladesh will be a developed country by 2041. Until 2100 we go with the plan, the Delta Plan. Therefore, those who are the high-level leaders of the country in 41, the new officers today will be the leaders, you are my 2041 soldiers.
The Prime Minister praised the Air Force for rescuing some students trapped in Himchhari at the time. In addition, Sheikh Hasina thanked the Air Force for its contribution in various disasters, including the Corona epidemic and Cyclone Ampan.
