Dhaka: The government has said that primary school assistant teachers will get higher salaries only if the ‘Ibas ++’ software is updated to determine the salaries and allowances of government employees.
On Monday (September 21), the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said that the software update will be very fast.
The ministry said in a statement that the salaries of assistant teachers in government elementary schools have been raised from grade 14 (trained) and grade 15 (not trained) to grade 13.
Currently, salaries and benefits of public employees are determined using the ‘Ibas ++’ software. Work is underway to update the ‘Ibas ++’ software to set higher salaries for primary teachers, which will be completed soon. ‘
According to the notification, they have noted the temporary difficulty in determining the salary in ‘Ibas ++’ at the field level. The ‘Ibas ++’ update is expected to be completed soon and elementary school assistant teachers are expected to receive higher salaries.
The public relations official, Rabindranath Roy, said that on February 9 this year, the government had raised the salaries of primary school assistant teachers to the national salary level. Although the salary category has been improved, the salary of many people has been reduced while the salary is fixed. Subsequently, the ministry sent a letter to the finance secretary seeking a solution to the problem. The Ministry of Finance agreed to set teachers’ salaries at a higher level.
Alamgir Muhammad Mansurul Alam, Additional Secretary (Schools) of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, told banglanews that the new rating will come into effect from the day the salary rating is improved. However, due to the software of the Ministry of Finance, there was a problem fixing their salaries. The matter will be resolved soon, the Finance Ministry said.
He added that they would enter the new payment structure if the information about the degree promotion was entered into the software. But no one will be harmed. Depending on the grade, they will receive salary and allowances from that day on.
