US President Donald Trump on Saturday nominated Amy Connie Barrett to replace the late Ginsberg, the country’s Supreme Court Justice.

His nomination 36 days before the presidential election would give President Trump the benefit of a more conservative court, according to Voice of America.

“I am very proud to have nominated one of its most talented justices (Amy Connie Barrett) to the Supreme Court,” said President Trump in the Rose Garden of the White House.

President Trump called Barrett a woman of outstanding achievement.

President Trump has called for the nomination of Amy Connie Barrett to be expedited, urging lawmakers and the media to refrain from making personal and partisan comments about him.

Amy Connie Barrett recalled the contribution of the late Judge Ruth Bader Ginsberg in her short speech.
