A former Indian judge has been arrested for making offensive comments about the wives of judges and judges. His name is CS Karnan. Chennai police arrested him on Wednesday, NDTV reported.

The former judge not only commented, he also uploaded the statement to YouTube.

According to the Times of India, the former judge was arrested at his home in Avadi. They’ve kept him in the commissioner’s office in Vapier.

The police have brought cases against him under sections 509 of the IPC (insulting a woman, choosing offensive words) and section 153 (giving any unwanted incitement to riot).

According to the Financial Express, the Madras High Court is upset that the police did not take any action in the incident. On Tuesday, the court ordered the Inspector General of Police (DGP) to appear before him on December 6 and inform him of the progress of the case. He was arrested a day later.

Previously, the Superior Court ordered the commissioner to investigate the case brought against the former judge. He also asked the DGP to supervise the investigation.

The court approved the order in an application filed by the Tamil Nadu Bar Association. The petition said that the former judge had threatened to rape the wives of the judges, lawyers and court staff.
