UNO attacks Wahida Khanam and her father
Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi officer Wahida Khanam from Dinajpur and her father, freedom fighter Omar Ali Sheikh, were attacked and the Ghoraghat OC Amirul Islam police station was removed.
Dinajpur Police Superintendent Mohammad Anwar Hossain said OC Amirul Islam was removed and taken to the Dinajpur Police Line on Friday. For now, the responsibility of the OC has been handed over to the Inspector of the Ghoraghat Police Station (investigation) Mominul Islam.
Meanwhile, the case brought by his older brother Sheikh Farid Uddin in connection with the attack on the UN Wahida Khanam has already been transferred from Ghoraghat police station to Dinajpur DB police and OC Imam Zafar of the police de Dinajpur DB has been appointed investigating officer.

Meanwhile, two of the three defendants in the case (the painter Nabirul Islam and Santu Kumar Das) will be brought to court on Friday after a seven-day pre-trial detention. Confirming the matter, investigating officer Imam Zafar said at noon that defendants Nabirul Islam and Santu Kumar Das would be presented in court this afternoon. Another arrested defendant, Asadul Islam, the 7-day pretrial detention will end on Saturday.
It is worth mentioning that Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi officer Wahida Khanam and her father, the freedom fighter, Omar Ali Sheikh, were brutally beaten with a hammer by criminals on Wednesday night. UNO Waheeda Khanam is currently in treatment at Neuro Science Hospital in Dhaka and her father, Omar Ali Sheikh, at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
