Obaidul Quader’s challenge with the Padma Bridge

In launching a challenge on the construction of the Padma Bridge, the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, said that there were no irregularities in the construction of the Padma Bridge and that there was not the slightest lack of transparency.

Obaidul Quader said this while addressing a debate meeting on the occasion of Victory Day and inaugurating Bangabandhu, Liberation War and Bangladesh Corner at Setubhaban in the capital on Friday morning.

He said that only Bangabandhu’s daughter has the courage to challenge the World Bank and decide to build the Padma Bridge with her own funds.

The bridge minister hoped that vehicles would be able to cross the Padma Bridge in 2022.

The secretary general of the Awami League said that Bangladesh is ahead of Pakistan in most socio-economic indicators even before the golden jubilee of independence. Bangladesh is being discussed in the Pakistani parliament, they want to be Bangladesh now.

He said that this is the birth of a Mujib and the success and achievement of the struggle.
