The General Council for the Protection of Student Rights announces a new convocation committeeThe joint coordinator of the Council for Student Rights Muhammad Rashed Khan and the former vice president of Dakshur Nurul Haque Nur have been declared “undesirable” and a new convocation committee of 22 members of the same organization has been announced. They made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club on Thursday (October 15). They announced the new convening committee under the name “General Council for the Protection of Student Rights of Bangladesh”.

At the press conference, APM Suhel, joint coordinator of the Student Rights Council and coordinator of the new committee, said: Today’s press conference aims to protest against the recent politicization of DU student rape cases and the purpose of organizational reform.

He said: “The organization’s name was shortened on February 16, 2020 at the inauguration of the organization’s third year, which many of us opposed. After the expiration of Daksu’s mandate, three affiliated organizations, namely the Bangladesh Youth Rights Council, the Workers’ Rights Council and the Expatriate Rights Council, were formed on the initiative of the Rights Council of Bangladesh. Students with the intention of launching into politics. Where we still do not know the aims and objectives of these organizations. As a result, resentment within the organization built up and was opposed by the top rank and file leaders of the organization. But the process of politicizing a single decision begins. Which is a kind of autocratic decision and with it an extreme conflict within the organization. The emergence of this youth-oriented party due to the youth’s aversion to politics for various reasons deserves real praise. But speaking of the masses, capitalizing on the emotions of the common people, there are some horrible truths behind the masks, which almost everyone in the organization knows, but does not want to reveal.

Ismail Samrat, committee secretary member and joint coordinator of the Student Rights Council, said: This case would have been a political case if everyone in the organization hadn’t known about it a long time ago.

He said: “It was the sole decision of the DU union to expel APM Suhel. There was no central decision. At that time, everyone joined in and protested against the DU union. In the interest of the organization and with the opportunity to correct them, we have been silent on all issues for so long. However, we have recently come to speak to you on various topics, including your financial opacity, women’s scandals, autocratic organizational decisions, unethical behavior, underestimation of the grassroots, apostasy, and temporary expulsion of old leaders.

He said: “Whenever someone says something against him, he is threatened with various threats through phone calls and messages, including social media.” What has already been done with the media. This is another form of tendency to repress anti-government sentiments. They themselves are torturing the leaders and workers of the organization day and night by making policies online.

Ismail Samrat further said: “Our goal was to build a society free from discrimination and to walk together shoulder to shoulder, building a prosperous golden Bangladesh. But today they have moved away from that ideal. We started our organizing journey with the motto of building a non-discriminatory Bangladesh. In that organization, they themselves are being repeatedly victimized by those who want to satisfy their vested interests in the name of politics. Due to the arrogance, arrogance, and stubborn determination of some leaders, the organization formed in exchange for the sacrifice of thousands of our people is running into organizational decline. As a result of this, several scandals are being revealed through different media which is very embarrassing and sad for us.

“We never wanted an organization like this,” he said. Speaking against their disorganized attitude, they spread false propaganda which included giving other labels like Shibir, Chhatra League, Chhatra Dal, Left, intelligence agents, making them mentally ill, harassing them in the name of a temporary exemption. Since people blindly believe them, they use it in a dirty way. It has become very common for them to underestimate the old by fooling the new members into forming new committees.

He said that many had left the organization because they could not bear the toxic situation or had been forced to flee. There was a pent-up anger from different units over this. As a result, 21 units within the organization went rogue.

The emperor said: “Considering everything in this situation, declaring Nur and Rasheds as undesirable, our old name is’ Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhik Sanrakshan Parishad.” With that we officially begin our activities. ‘

It should be mentioned that a rape case has been registered against six people, including Hasan Al Mamun and Nurul Haque Noor. Nur has been charged in three cases brought by a student from Dhaka University.

On September 20, the student filed a rape case against Hasan Al Mamun, the coordinator of the Bangladesh General Council for the Protection of Students’ Rights, at the Lalbagh Police Station in the capital. Daksh Nurul’s former vice president Haque Nur and five other people were charged in the case.

The next day, September 21, he filed another case against the six defendants at the Kotwali Police Station. The defendants in the case were charged with conspiracy to kidnap, rape, collaborate in rape and digital propaganda to demonstrate contempt.

Later on Wednesday (October 14) at noon, the same DU student filed a case against Nur under the Digital Security Act. It has been alleged in the case that Nur gave the plaintiff the status of his Facebook ID as characterless.
