Dhaka: Former Vice President (VP) Nurul Haque Nur of the Central Student Parliament (Daksu) of Dhaka University (DU) and six other people have brought a rape case at the Kotwali Police Station on October 13 (Tuesday).
On Tuesday (September 22), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Yasmin Ara accepted the statement and ordered the Kotwali Police Station Inspector Nur Alam to present the report.
The victim presented the case at the Kotwali Police Station in the capital on Tuesday. He is also said to have brought the above case against the same defendant at the Lalbagh Police Station.
Also in this case, all six have been indicted on separate charges. Hassan Al Mamun was charged with rape in the case. However, the rape charge in this case is against Nazmul Hasan Sohag, the joint coordinator of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council.
Hassan Al Mamun is the coordinator of this organization that was formed during the quota reform movement. Former Vice President Noor de Daksh is the joint coordinator of the same organization. In addition, other defendants are also leaders and activists at different levels of the organization.
The case alleges the kidnapping of the girl and then the rape in mutual cooperation and humiliation through social media.
It is known that two sections have been mentioned in the case. One complaint is the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act and the other is the Digital Safety Act.
The six defendants in the case are Nazmul Hasan Sohag, 26, joint coordinator of Bangladesh Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Hasan Al Mamun, 28, coordinator of the same organization, Nurul Haque Nuru, 25, former vice president of the DU Central Student Parliament ( Daksu) and Bangladesh Joint Coordinator Chhatra Odhikar Parishad. Maryland. Saiful Islam (26), Nazmul Huda (25) from the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, and Abdullah Hill Kafi (23), a DU student.
In the case, the day of the accident has been cited, from 6:40 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on February 9 of this year. The mentioned place is Sadarghat Hotel and Restaurant in Kotwali Thana area.
Earlier on Monday (September 21), all six, including Nur, were charged in a rape case brought by the DU student. Later, they joined the protest procession in protest of the case. Later, the police arrested six people, including Nur. However, they were released within an hour.
Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, taking hundreds of protesters away by truck. That is why they were arrested.
