Dhaka: Idol worship is forbidden, but nowhere in the Quran is it mentioned that the idol is broken, said the founder and administrator of the public health center. Jafrullah Chowdhury.
He made the remarks while addressing a discussion meeting marking the 140th anniversary of the birth of oppressed public leader Maulana Bhasani at the Major Haider Biruttam Auditorium of the Dhanmondi Public Health Center on Saturday (December 12) afternoon.
Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said that the history of the liberation war is completely incomplete without Maulana Bhasani. In the history of the liberation war of Bangladesh, two people must be brought, one is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the other is Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani. These two have two types of character. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was imprisoned in Pakistan during the liberation war. Slogans have been chanted in his name, the liberation war has been carried out in his name. On the other hand, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani was physically leading the liberation war.
Without naming either party, the founder and administrator of Public Health said the story of how Maulana Bhasani was tortured was unknown to many young people. When Maulana Saheb realized that she could not stay with them, she left her established Awami League party and formed a new party. Maulana Bhasani was also attacked by her predecessors who today rule the country at a meeting at the Roopmahal Cinema Hall in Sadarghat. They attacked his biological father. They should have officially celebrated Maulana Bhasani’s birthday today. In today’s newspaper there is nothing but a little story about Maulana Bhasani. Because they are afraid of Maulana Bhasani.
Addressing anti-sculpture agitators, Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said the country’s maulvis and academics are waving with sculptures and idols. I am not an Arabic scholar, but I have read translations of the Quran in different languages, it is forbidden to worship idols, but nowhere in the Quran is it said that I break idols. Every church has to be demolished to break the statue, because the church has a statue of Jesus Christ. The statues or sculptures did not move on these issues but on the movement for the realization of people’s rights, the movement for justice.
Bhasani Presidium member Anusari Parishad Naeem Jahangir chaired the debate. Chaired by Bhasani Presidium Member of the Heroic Freedom Fighter Council. Akhtar Hossain.
Professor Asif Nazrul of Dhaka University, Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Secretary General of Bhasani Anusari Parishad, Julhasnain Babu of Gana Sanghati Andolan, Abul Hasan Rubel, Dhaksu VP Nurul Haque Nur, Defender of State Thought Hasnat Qayyum, Didarul Islam Odhikar Rashed Khan.
