A schoolgirl named Nila Roy (14) has been stabbed to death in Savar for not accepting a love proposal.

The murder took place on Girls School Road in Palpara Mahalla of Savar Township on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as Nila, daughter of Narayan Roy from the Balirtek area in the Manikganj district. He and his family rented a house in Kazi Mokma Para in the municipal area and studied in the 10th class at the local Aced School.

The accused is known to have been identified as Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury (25). He is a resident of the same area.

According to police and eyewitnesses, Bakhate Mizanur had been proposing love to Neela for a long time. After turning down the offer, the talented young man stopped Neela and her brother Alok on their way home from a local hospital around 8 p.m. Sunday. After threatening her brother and sending him home, Mizanur led Neela down a lonely path and stabbed her in different parts of the body.

The locals rescued Nila in critical condition and took her to Enam Medical College Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

According to sources at Enam Medical Hospital, Neela was stabbed in five or six places. He was stabbed in the neck, face and abdomen.

In this regard, Savar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam said that preparations are under way to retrieve the body and send it to the morgue of Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for autopsy. A case is also being processed at the Savar police station.

He also said that since the love proposal was rejected, it is being investigated if there is any implication in the murder or any other matter. All are being investigated keeping in mind.

However, the victim’s family says the young man did not respond to the offer of love and killed the young man. The main facts will be known after the arrest of the accused. An operation is underway to arrest him.

Meanwhile, in another incident in Savar, police arrested her husband Mahidul, 45, accused of killing his wife Rebecca Begum. He was arrested at Konabari in Gazipur on Sunday night.

Police recovered the body of Rebecca, 40, from the side of the road in Ulail mahalla in Savar municipality on Thursday morning. Her identity could not be found. Mahidul was later arrested on the basis of a mobile phone found with Rebecca. After his arrest, Mahidul told the police everything.

According to the police, Rebecca Begum’s house is in the Chapain mahalla of the Savar municipality. She married Mahidul a couple of years ago. This is your second marriage. Mahidul used to work in a garment factory in Konabari in Gazipur. Lived there. His home is Madhukhali in Faridpur. A few months after the marriage, Mahidul learned that his wife was involved in various immoral activities. Mahidul had been warning his wife since he learned of the matter. Even after that, Rebecca remained like him.

On the way home last Wednesday night, Mohidul called his wife’s mobile phone to find out her whereabouts. Rebecca was at Ulail then. After confirming the location on his mobile phone, Mahidul went there and saw his wife with a man. At that time, he (Mahidul) got emotional and killed Rebecca by suffocation, after leaving her on the side of the Dhaka-Aricha road, he set off for Konabari.

Savar Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Saiful Islam said Mahidul was arrested in Konabari around 10 pm Sunday based on a mobile phone found near Rebecca at the scene. During preliminary questioning, he confessed to killing Rebecca.
