Charjabbar OC Shahed Uddin Police Station said 20-year-old Helal Uddin, son of Jasim Uddin from Char Noman village in the Mohammadpur union of Subarnachar upazila was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly raping a girl from six years.
Helal was sent to jail by court order after the boy’s mother filed a case at the Char Jabbar Police Station on Thursday morning, he said, adding that the boy was admitted to Noakhali Sadar Hospital.
Nur Alam, a member of Mohammadpur Union District 9, said Helal worked on the boy’s father’s farm.
“Helal has confessed to the locals that he raped the girl.”
Meanwhile, the Kabirhat OC Mirza Mohammad Hasan police station said police arrested 18-year-old Arman Hossain, the son of Monir Hossain from Uttar Jagdananda village in a case of raping a 45-year-old widow in the village. from Kabirhat upazila from Jagdananda on Thursday evening.
He said that on October 3, the woman’s brother filed a complaint accusing six people of raping and collaborating in the incident. Arman, the main defendant in the case, was sent to jail by court order Thursday after his arrest.
