Dhaka: The largest religious holiday of Christian ‘Christmas’ will be celebrated on a limited basis in Bangladesh as in other countries around the world. And on the ‘Thirty-first Night’ of the English New Year, people will not be allowed to gather in open spaces or have any parties.
There will be maximum police security throughout the capital around Christmas and the thirty-first night.
This was stated by the DMP Moha commissioner at a coordination meeting on law and order and traffic management on the occasion of the celebrations of ‘Christmas’ and ‘Thirty-first night 2020’ at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police headquarters ( DMP) on Monday (December 21). Islam Shafiqul.
The coordination meeting was attended by senior DMP officials, representatives of the Christian community, officials from various government intelligence agencies, and representatives from various service providers.

‘The police will provide maximum security in the church on the occasion of Christmas. In addition, there will be additional surveillance and security measures in Christian areas and institutions. Churches are asked to hold various prayer services at different times, depending on the area. ‘
Regarding the security of the thirty-first night, the DMP commissioner said that people will not be allowed to gather in any open space in the capital and have any kind of party. You cannot rent space or room in the name of the DJ party in hotels. However, by maintaining social distance, you will be able to host your own event in a limited number of hotels. But by no means will anyone be allowed to have a DJ party.
“Everyone should make sure that there are no more traffic jams on the roads in front of the hotels. Also, no program can be carried out at any educational institution, including Dhaka University, on the 31st night. ‘
He added that the bars in the capital will be closed from the night of the Thirty-First Night. Stores can be kept open by following social distance and proper hygiene rules. However, as usual, the market, including all fast food stores, will be closed after 8pm.
DMP has taken some security measures to celebrate Christmas and the 31st night. In each of these churches there will be an adequate police deployment in uniform and white uniform. Visitors must enter each church through an archway. It will be searched manually with a metal detector. The place will be devastating with Dog Squad. There will be a tender against fire and an ambulance system for safety.
At the same time, an uninterrupted power supply will be guaranteed in the church area. Floating tents or street vendors will not be allowed to sit in the church area. You cannot come to church with any kind of bag, bag, box, cardboard, etc.
To ensure hygiene, hand washing and hand sanitizer with soapy water, temperature measurement with thermal scanner, sanitizing automatic spray machine or tunnel installation should be provided at the entrance of each place. All devotees and visitors, including the church father and the incumbent, must wear a mask. In all cases, social distance must be guaranteed.
The DMP commissioner also discouraged sick visitors, the elderly and children from attending the event.
