Traditional education activities are going to change next year. Based on the existing curriculum, students will continue to be assessed through assignments throughout the year. Special measures will also be taken for students in the new year to fill the gap of the academic year 2020. This information has been made known from relevant sources.
Due to the situation in Corona, there is no possibility of opening more educational institutions this year. Educational institutions may even remain closed until March of next year. And that is why preparations are being made for next year’s educational activities.
The National Board of Curriculum and Textbooks is preparing to do three-month assignments for students from January to March. On the other hand, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education has already made preparations to assess students through assignments throughout the year. Assignment agreements will continue even if there is no crown effect. At the same time, steps will be taken to address the student shortage in the current academic year. For this, New Year’s books and Old Year’s books must be kept in the student collection. According to the Ministry of Education, the textbooks will be delivered to students on January 1, 2021.
In addition to the assignment system, online teaching and video recording will also be provided. Online education activities will take place throughout the year, even if there is no corona situation.
If you want to meet the Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education, Prof. Syed Golam Md. Farooq said: ‘We have been trying to introduce formative assessment for a long time. But I could not. Due to the Covid-19 situation, I had to conduct a formative assessment starting in November. That has been very effective for the students. Teachers and students have taken it well. It has been proven that learning can be done by testing. There is nothing to learn from the previous existing test system. What you learned was verified. This system is only experimental. So even if we don’t, we will continue the formative assessment next year.
The Department of Secondary and Higher Education said there would be no opportunity for students to cheat on the assignment system. If someone copies an assignment through someone else or creates an assignment through someone else, teachers will understand and take action. If necessary, make the same new assignment. Since there is no problem with giving notes as an exam, the task of teaching the student will be assigned.
If you want to meet the teacher. Syed Golam Md. Farooq said: ‘There will be no possibility of cheating in this system. If teachers want to know about students’ homework or see homework, they can understand whether the student has done it himself or not. If he doesn’t do it himself, the teachers will reassign him the same assignment. ‘
The general director further said: ‘When the student’s homework goes to the teacher, then the teacher will find the student’s weakness. Homework will be given to the student after determining the weakness. Then the students will understand their weakness. Teachers can understand weaknesses and teach students. If necessary, the teacher will re-enable the student for the specific lesson with the assignment.
