Nazmul XI started the President’s Cup with a victory

Nazmul XI is off to a good start in the BCB President’s Cup ODI tournament with a win. In the opening match of the tournament, Nazmul’s team lost to Mahmudullah XI by 6 wickets.

Mahmudullah hit first at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Sunday (October 11) and his team eliminated him 198. In response, Nazmul XI easily won the half-century of Touhid Hridoy and Irfan Shukkur.

Mahmudullah hit the 196-run goal and it became difficult to score against XI’s controlled bowls. Nazmul XI lost 5 wickets for 69 races and came under a lot of pressure.

Touhid Hridoy and Irfan Shukkur led the team to victory in the sixth wicket association. They collected half a century with great confidence. They facilitated the team’s victory. When Hridoy was out by 52 runs, Nazmul XI was 13 runs away from the team’s victory.

Then Irfan and Naeem Hasan left the field to ensure the team’s victory. Nazmul’s team lost 6 wickets in 41.1 overs and made 198 runs. Irfan was undefeated in 56 races.

Mahmudullah XI’s Ebadat Hossain took 3 windows and Mahmudullah, Rakibul Hasan and Aminul Islam Biplob took 1 window each.

Previously, Mahmudullah XI lost the draw and chose to hit at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Naeem Sheikh and Liton Das, the two starters, got off to a good start. However, after scoring 18 runs in 3 overs, the game was stopped due to rain.

When the rain stopped and the game started again, Naeem Sheikh ran out of 6 runs and came back. After that, Taskin Ahmed picked up the Liton wicket for 21 runs. When Muminul Haque was sacked for zero by Al-Amin Hossain, Mahmudullah XI lost three wickets for 21 runs.

Captain Mahmudullah Riyad and Imrul Kayes handled the opening pressure in the fourth wicket partnership. They did a couple of fifty races. When Imrul returned to the pavilion with Naeem Hasan’s 41 races, the pair of 63 races was broken.

Nurul Hasan Sohan ran out of 146 runs. However, Captain Mahmudullah kept playing with one side. He collected the first fifty of the series. He scored 51 of 62 balls before being thrown by Mukidul Islam Mugdhar. Later, Sabbir Rahman, who scored 22 runs, also fell victim to the fascination.

Mahmudullah XI was all for 198 runs in 48.2 overs when no other hitter was seen to score a great run.

Taskin Ahmed, Al-Amin and Mugdha of Nazmul XI took two plots each, while Naeem Hasan and Soumya Sarkar took one each.
