Police arrested two more people for torturing a housewife by stripping her naked at Eklashpur Union of Noakhali’s Begumganj Upazila. They were arrested in the area Tuesday night. Eight people were arrested in cases filed under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act.
The two detainees are Nur Hossain Russell and Sohag. Their names are not on the case statement. Previously, those arrested were arrested for their participation in interrogations in custody, police said.
Confirming the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (CO) of the Begumganj Model Police Station, Harun Aur Rashid Chowdhury, said that the defendant Md. Rahim and Rahmat Ullah have been in pre-trial detention for three days and six days, respectively. Additionally, the main defendant in the Badal case has been in pre-trial detention for seven days in two cases and Eklashpur Union Parishad (UP) member Moazzem Hossain alias Sohag in one case for three days. The court granted preventive detention for questioning. Judge Masfiqul Haque of the Noakhali Judicial Court of First Instance (Amli Court No. 3) granted pre-trial detention on Tuesday afternoon.
The OC said that during the interrogation of the accused in custody, the involvement of Nur Hossain Russell and Sohag in the incident of torturing the housewife by stripping her was discovered. They have been arrested for this.
On September 2, around 9 pm, a housewife entered the house of a housewife in the Eklashpur Union of Begumganj Upazila and tied up her husband in the next room. Then they tried to rape the housewife. At that time, when the housewife interrupted, they stripped the housewife, brutally beat her and recorded the video on her mobile phone. He then spread the video on social media because he did not agree with the unethical proposal. This incident has caused commotion throughout the country.
The victim filed a case with the Begumganj Police Station under the Prevention of Abuse of Women and Children Act and the Pornography Control Act on Sunday evening. Seven to eight other unidentified people were named as defendants. The fugitives in the case are Abul Kalam, Israfil Hossain, Samsuddin Sumon, Abdur Rob and Arif. They all live in Begumganj. They are all members of the Delwar Bahini in Eklashpur.

Quoting the woman, the director of the National Human Rights Commission said: “The woman said that Delwar raped her the first time a year ago, at night in her own home. She was then raped a second time before the last Eid- ul-Fitr He was raped in a boat.
During the second rape, Delwar was assisted by another young man named Kalam. Through him, Delwar called the woman to the boat. Later, Delwar fired Kalam with money.
