Police recovered Raiser’s body from the wooden floor of Arman-Suma’s home around 11 p.m. Monday, six hours after he disappeared. The boy’s mother, Lipa Akhter, filed a murder case at the Sakhipur police station on Tuesday afternoon charging the unidentified people. Police arrested neighbors Arman Khan (35) and Suma Khan (25) on Tuesday night. When they were sent to the Tangail court on Wednesday, Suma pleaded guilty.
In her statement, Suma said that she kidnapped Raisa and kept her at her home. Unable to find Raisa, the family members began searching for her. Then Arman also went out with others to find Raisa. When Raisa started crying, Suma pressed the baby’s face. The boy was subsequently strangled with a scarf. He stuffed the body into a sack. However, Suma could not throw the sack anywhere because there were people in the house.
Sakhipur Police Station (SI) Deputy Inspector Sirajul Islam told Prothom Alo on Thursday morning that the court had ordered the couple to be sent to Tangail Jail after Suma Khan testified in court.
