MP Nixon obtained advance bond

Independent MP Faridpur-4 Mujibur Rahman (Nixon) Chowdhury received advance bond from the High Court in a case alleging violation of the electoral code of conduct.

Judge Sheikh Mohammad on Tuesday. The court granted an eight-week advance bond to Nixon Chowdhury after Zakir Hossain and Judge KM Zahid Sarwar appeared before the Kajal High Court court and requested advance bond.

Then last Thursday, Charbhadrasan Upazila Parishad returning officer from Faridpur, Nawabul Islam, brought a case against Nixon Chowdhury for violating the electoral code of conduct. Nixon Chowdhury requested advance bond in Superior Court on October 18 in that case.

According to the case statement filed against Nixon Chowdhury, Representative Nixon called Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar and demanded an apology for appointing a central executive magistrate in the Charbhadrasan upazila by-election on October 10. His supporting candidate “threatened” to block the road if he was defeated and “behaved indecently.”

At the same time, after arresting an electoral agent for voting and smoking in front of a voting booth on Election Day, the MP delivered ‘indecent language, intimidation and threats’ to Charbhadrasan official Upazila Nirbahi, to the Bhangar Deputy Commissioner (Land) and the Acting Executive Magistrate.

The statement said that Nixon Chowdhury had violated electoral rules by participating in the election campaign by not being present in the constituency as a member of Parliament and by “insulting and intimidating” the officials in charge.
