The BNP did not obtain permission for the funeral of Lawyer Moudud Ahmed, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, in Jatiya Sangsad South Plaza. There was talk of a janaza next Friday (March 19) morning. Party chairman Shairul Kabir Khan’s media wing member told the Bengali Tribune.

“We ask the speaker for the first janaza of Moudud Ahmed,” Shairul Kabir Khan said around 8 pm on Wednesday. No permission was given from there.

Moudud Ahmed died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore at 6.30pm on Tuesday.

Moudud Ahmed’s body is scheduled to land in Dhaka on March 18 at 5:45 in Bangladesh Biman. The body will then be kept in cold storage at United Hospital.

Shairul said that another janaza will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in front of the Naya Paltan BNP headquarters after the janaza prayers at the Superior Court premises at 10 a.m. Then his body will be taken to Noakhali. If possible, he will be buried next to his parents’ grave in Noakhali Basurhat and Kompaniganj Upazila.
