A 25-year-old salon worker was allegedly raped in a private car in Gazipur’s Kashimpur. The incident took place in the Jirani area of the Gazipur metropolis on Thursday afternoon.
Police arrested Pintu Mia, 30, a private driver charged in the incident. Pintu is the son of Abdul Barek from Nawla village in Kaliakair, Gazipur.
According to the worker in the victim’s ward, he met the driver Pintu under the pretext of renting a private car. On Thursday afternoon, she took her eight-year-old son for a ride in Pintu’s private car. Pintu went to the Jirani area on the Chandra-Nabinagar highway, left the boy in a shop, took him to a secluded place, and raped him. When the pedestrians got ahead of him, Pintu left him and fled in a private car. He later filed a rape case against Pintu at the Kashimpur Police Station.
GMP Kashimpur OC Mahbub-e-Khoda Police Station said Pintu Mia was arrested after discovering the initial truth of the allegations. The woman will be sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital on Friday for a medical examination.
