The boy’s wife and mother-in-law were reported to have died after consuming poisonous fish crackers in Srimangal district. The incident took place in the village of Uttar Bharaura in the Sadar union of the Upazila on Wednesday night (December 23). The family claimed that a boy named Naeem (7) was also undergoing treatment at the Upazila Health Complex in critical condition after consuming poisonous fish.
The deceased were identified as Shahida Begum, 40, wife of Joynal Abedin from Uttar Bharaura village, and her daughter-in-law Nurun Nahar, 25.
According to the family, Shahida Begum bought the poisonous crackers from a fishmonger last Wednesday morning. Later, at lunchtime, eat the cooked fish with your grandson and daughter-in-law. When they get sick at night, they are taken to the village doctor. At one point, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law died in their own home. Young son Naeem was later taken to the health complex. The other two members of the family were not at home at the time.

Srimangal Circle Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashrafuzzaman, Officer in Charge of Srimangal Police Station Abdus Chalek and UP Local President Vanu Lal Roy visited the site.
The officer in charge of the Srimangal Police Station, Abdus Chalek, said that the incident was initially believed to have been caused by eating fish after speaking to family members. Details will be known after the autopsy report.
