In just 12 hours, a mother, father and daughter died in Mirpur of Kushtia. The bodies of the three have already been buried. The killings took place in Kushtia’s Mirpur upazila from Friday night to Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Lalon Mallick, 60, wife of Lalon Mallick, Anjera Khatun, 65, and Anguri Khatun, 40, wife of Makkel Ali, the daughter of Lalon Mallick.
According to locals, Anjera Khatun, Lalon Mallick’s wife, died at her home around 11:15 pm on Friday. He was buried in the Govindagunia cemetery at 9am on Saturday (September 19) after Janaza. Upon seeing his mother’s body, his daughter Anguri Khatun burst into tears. At one point she fell ill at home. She died on the way to the hospital around 11 at night.
Meanwhile, Lalon Mallick died at his home at 11:30 pm after hearing the news of the death of his eldest daughter. In just 12 hours, the shadow of mourning has fallen over the area due to the death of mother, father and daughter.
Saiful Islam, a member of Dhubail Union Parishad, said it was a tragic incident. Anjera Khatun has suffered from heart disease for a long time. She died Friday night. We buried him at 9 in the morning. At 11 o’clock I learned that her daughter Anguri Khatun had died. After a while, I learned that Lalon Mallick died at home due to the grief of her wife and daughter.
