Eighty percent of married men in Bangladesh are victims of “mental” abuse. Many do not want to reveal these things for fear of social embarrassment. This information was provided by ‘Bangladesh Men’s Rights Foundation’ on the basis of a study carried out by them.

The non-governmental organization says the complainants did not reveal their identities for fear of social stigma. Human rights activists also agree that many married men are victims of torture. They say the news reaches them that they abuse men. However, they demanded legal protection for anyone tortured.

Recently, some non-governmental organizations are celebrating International Men’s Day in different countries of the world. The Bangladesh Men’s Rights Foundation, established in 2016, celebrates Men’s Day in Bangladesh on November 19 each year. The organization said that small-scale events of this type will also be organized this year. Sheikh Khairul Alam, founder and president of the organization, said the organization was started to provide advice and help in legal battles to abused men.

He said: ‘We have seen in the phone calls that come to us every day, many men are silently shedding tears. They are ashamed to talk about torture. Source: Deutsche Welle.
