(18), Jamal (40), Jewel (7), Joynal Abedin (40) and Mainuddin (12). The bodies of 12 of the 16 dead have been handed over to their families so far.

The blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the Fatulla west floor area in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila around 9:15 pm on Friday. Within moments, panic spread among about 50 people inside the mosque. They try to leave in a hurry. 36 of them were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Plastic Surgery and Burns.

Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy deputy director of the Narayanganj Fire Service, said the explosion at the mosque was initially caused by an AC nine gas line. He said this while visiting the place on Friday night.

Three investigative committees have been formed into this incident. The fire service has formed an investigation committee, the Titas Gas Authority has formed an investigation committee, and the district administration has formed an investigation committee.
