Three more people were killed in an explosion caused by a gas pipe leak at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the West Talla area of Narayanganj. The death toll has risen to 21.

He said Abdul Malek (62), Mizan Hossain Nizam (40) and Nadim (45) died while receiving treatment at night. So far, 21 people have been killed in the air conditioning blast at the mosque.
The bodies of 18 people killed in the explosion have been handed over to their families without an autopsy since 3 p.m. Saturday. Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, Executive Officer (UN), Nahida Barik and Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) said. Jahed Parvez Chowdhury handed over the body to his relatives.
The other deceased were identified as Rifat (18), Mostafa Kamal (34), Zubair (18), Sabbir (21), Quddus Byapri (62), Humayun Kabir (60), Ibrahim (43), Muazzin Delwar Hossain (48) and Junaid. (18), Jamal (40), Jewel (7), Joynal Abedin (40) and Mainuddin (12). The bodies of 12 of the 16 dead have been handed over to their families so far.
A boy named Jewel was the first to die in the incident around 12:30 pm on Friday. Then others die at night and in the morning. The muezzin of the mosque is also on the list of the dead.
The blast took place at the Baitus Salat Jame mosque in the Fatulla west floor area in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila around 9:15 pm on Friday. Within moments, panic spread among about 50 people inside the mosque. They try to leave in a hurry. 36 of them were rescued and admitted to the Sheikh Hasina Institute of Plastic Surgery and Burns.
Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy deputy director of the Narayanganj Fire Service, said the explosion at the mosque was initially caused by an AC nine gas line. He said this while visiting the place on Friday night.
Three investigative committees have been formed into this incident. The fire service has formed an investigation committee, the Titas Gas Authority has formed an investigation committee, and the district administration has formed an investigation committee.
