More than 3 lakh of Samsung smart TVs to be manufactured in the country each year

The Samsung factory was opened in Narsingdi with the goal of producing more than 3 lakh of televisions per year with a production capacity of 1,000 per day.

South Korean electronics manufacturer Samsung’s TV is manufactured in a huge Kamargaon factory in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi, 50 km from Dhaka.

The Bangladesh company ‘Fair Electronics Limited’ has established this factory on 16 acres of land with an investment of Tk 600 crore.

The factory started its life in Bangladesh in 2016 with the addition of a mobile phone and the following year a refrigerator was manufactured. After this, Samsung’s Smart TV manufacturing plant started its journey this time.

The president of NBR said that the factory is producing all Samsung smart TVs, which will make an impeccable contribution to the light engineering technology industry in Bangladesh. Samsung’s mobile phone and electronics factories are encouraging foreign investment and creating massive jobs.

“We look forward to continuing our policy support and full support for investors in the technology industry, including Samsung and Fair Electronics, who we hope will strengthen the country’s economy.”

Fair Group Chairman Ruhul Alam Al Mahbub said: “The Prime Minister’s Digital Bangladesh will accelerate the digitization of Bangladesh by supporting various activities, including digital TV classrooms built at Samsung’s state-of-the-art TV manufacturing plant. . At the same time, it will contribute to the country’s economy by earning foreign exchange by exporting abroad in the future ”.

Fair Electronics is a manufacturer and marketer of Samsung mobile phones, televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners and microwave ovens.

Mezbah Uddin, Marketing Director at Fair Electronics, told bdnews24.com: “The plant will produce 32- to 65-inch smart TVs of about 20 models. The 32,000-square-foot factory currently has more than 100 workers. “factory-made TVs on the market since they went into production a few months ago.”

At present, there is a demand of 16 lakh for televisions in Bangladesh every year, said Mezbah Uddin.
