The global crisis has put the country’s education system in a kind of crisis, the education minister said. Dipu Moni said on Saturday that each crisis opens up new possibilities. Covid-19 has opened a new horizon to increase the use of e-learning in the epidemic education system.
Noting that e-learning is very effective in the current times of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and will be used more widely in the coming days, the Minister said that steps have been taken to modernize and reform the education policy formulated in 2010. It will be given more importance to e-learning in educational policy.
He spoke at a webinar entitled ‘e-learning’ organized by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).
The Minister said that the people of this country are very technology-friendly, so we don’t have to face many challenges to increase the use of e-learning in education.
He said that in the coming days, in addition to conducting direct teaching activities in the classroom, online e-learning activities should continue and e-learning activities would play an important role in developing students’ skills in new subjects. .
The Education Minister expressed his hope that the people of this country would show courage in tackling the Kovid epidemic, saying: “We need to improve the quality of education, infrastructure and teachers by pre-screening the type of skilled labor that it will be required in the next few days. “
Noting that mindset is a major obstacle to further expansion of online education activities, the Minister of Education emphasized conducting more research at universities.
Rector of the National University Prof. Harun-ur-Rashid, Vice-Rector of the American International University, professor. Carmen Z. Lamanna, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Md. Murad Hossain Mollah and others joined the webinar as speakers. DCCI President Shams Mahmood delivered the welcome address at the webinar and Professor Osama Khan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Surrey, UK, delivered the keynote address at the webinar.
