The Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) suspended four policemen, including SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the police post, and withdrew three more.

The four sacked policemen are SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the Bandarbazar Police Post, Officer Harunur Rashid, Touhid Mia and Titu Chandra Das. The three retired police officers are ASI Ashek Elahi, ASI Qutb Ali and Constable Sajib Hossain.
