Sylhet: The Bandarbazar Outpost is one of the most expensive police posts in the city of Sylhet. There are rumors that you have to come to this police station with a large sum of money.

According to various sources, at least 20,000 taka are collected daily from various residential hotels located below the Bandarbazar outpost, 10,000 taka from street vendors and 16,000 tak from four gaming tables (Shillong arrow). Among the four game boards below the outpost is a man named Sajjad who runs the board on the Shillong bench adjacent to the Rangmahal Tower in Bandarbazar. Also, the sale of adulterated spices in Kalighat in the city is 30/40 lakhs per week, 20 lakhs per week from the banned polyethylene business, 6 lakhs per day for playing three cards, at least 20/30 lakhs per kidnapping group and 2 lakhs per day for floating prostitutes. He used to give it to Akbar at the outpost. He also confiscated shipments of Indian cosmetics and betel nuts and later released them.

Raihan Uddin died at Osmani Medical College Hospital on Sunday (October 11) morning. He is a resident of the Akhalia Neharipara area of ​​the city of Sylhet. Raihan was beaten to death by the police. But the relatives and relatives of the deceased claimed that Raihan Uddin was tortured to death at the Bandarbazar police post.
Tahmina Akhter Tani, the wife of the deceased, filed a murder case against the unidentified people at the Kotwali Model Police Station.

The Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) suspended four policemen, including SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the police post, and withdrew three more.

The four sacked policemen are SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan, in charge of the Bandarbazar Police Post, Officer Harunur Rashid, Touhid Mia and Titu Chandra Das. The three retired police officers are ASI Ashek Elahi, ASI Qutb Ali and Constable Sajib Hossain.

However, SI Akbar Hossain Bhuiyan has been on the run since that morning after the incident. Radio messages have been sent against him in all border areas so that he cannot leave the country.

Meanwhile, the homicide case presented by the victim’s wife was transferred to the Police Investigations Directorate (PBI) following instructions from the police headquarters. PBI is investigating the case. The body will also be exhumed on Thursday morning (October 15) for a new autopsy in the interest of the investigation.
