Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first dose of the Covid-19 Covacin vaccine on Monday.
Kovacin has been developed by Bharat Biotech.
The second phase of vaccination started in India from Monday and Modi went to AIIMS in Delhi at 6.25am and took the first dose. Citizens age 60 and over will be vaccinated at this stage. In addition, people aged 45 to 59 years who have comorbidity will also be vaccinated.
Vaccination in India started on January 16. So far, around 15 million people have been vaccinated with Covid-19.
The central government will provide the corona vaccine at no cost to government hospitals. Furthermore, the maximum price of the vaccine in private hospitals has been set at Rs 250.

According to official data, the number of patients infected with the new Kovid-19 has increased in Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat.
