Modi is angry at Kejriwal for not allowing stadiums to become prisons

The police cordoned off Delhi and wanted to arrest the agitator farmers for violating Kovid’s guidelines. The Modi government’s plan was to convert nine stadiums in Delhi into temporary prisons to house the protesters. Delhi’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has claimed that the central government is angered by his refusal to accept the Modi government’s plan.

By turning Delhi stadiums into temporary prisons, the Indian police wanted to arrest protesting farmers en masse. The directive was handed over to the Delhi Police by the Modi government. He said it was not possible without the consent of Delhi’s chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, who was also asked to approve the proposal. Because Kejriwal refused, the Modi government had to backtrack on its decision to arrest the protesters.

Raising the issue on Wednesday, Delhi’s chief minister said he had not agreed to use the stadiums as prisons in response to Narendra Modi’s central government proposal. That is why the central government is angry with him. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Party chief Aam Aadmi also criticized the chief minister of the Punjab, governed by India, Amarinder Singh. Kejriwal said that the Prime Minister of Punjab has now spoken in the language of the BJP. He is blamed for passing three agricultural laws in Central Delhi.

Modi’s government repeatedly pressured protesting farmers to withdraw their movement, saying the Kovid rule was in effect in Delhi. Arrests were also threatened. However, the central government of India does not have the infrastructure to jail millions of farmers for violating the Kovid law. So the Modi government plans to use the stadiums in Delhi as temporary prisons. However, it is not possible for the central government alone to implement the plan without a green signal from the Delhi government. So last week, the Modi government sought Kejriwal’s consent. It was planned to thwart peasant protests organized in this way. However, Kejriwal rejected the BJP’s offer.

The continued protests by farmers have become a source of unrest for the Modi government. The BJP is increasing pressure on the central farm bill at home and abroad. This Punjab-Haryana farmers’ movement has also caught the world’s attention.

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has sided with protesting Indian farmers. Farmers in the states governed by the BJP are also participating in the movement. No solution was found at the farmer leaders’ meeting with the Union Minister of Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar on Tuesday. The protesters are scheduled to meet again with the central government on Thursday. Peasant leaders have made it clear that their movement will continue until the new agrarian law is repealed.
